Overview: At Essel, we are seeking an experienced Superintendent (Environmental) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the effective implementation of environmental remediation projects. You will oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring successful execution within specified scopes, schedules, and budgets while meeting all contractual requirements. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee multiple projects at various sites, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project plans. Supervise and coordinate multidisciplinary tasks with integral scheduling components. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, taking direct responsibility for implementing and reinforcing all necessary requirements. Lead and direct field personnel, equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors in planning and executing work. Interpret project specifications and coordinate various construction phases to prevent delays and maintain project progress. Complete accurate daily field documentation, demonstrating a strong command of means and methods for construction activities. Understand and recognize contract requirements, identifying potential changed conditions or out-of-scope items. Assist in preparing cost estimates with appropriate backup, proactively minimizing schedule conflicts, and ensuring activities conform to budget and schedule. Procure materials and negotiate with vendors/subcontractors. Investigate accidents and complete related documentation, such as SOP development and safety stand downs. Provide project support, including attending site walks, soliciting subcontractor quotes, preparing estimates, and assisting in submitting proposals. Utilize computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, to enhance project efficiency and productivity. Collaborate directly with senior management to establish short and long-term goals for the team. Assist in projecting cost to complete and preparing change order documentation as needed. Supervise and contribute to the career development of up to 10 direct craft reports. Travel to project sites across multiple states, as needed, for project execution. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: 8 years of experience leading environmental cleanup, soil remediation, demo/decon, or habitat restoration projects. Demonstrated experience with multi-disciplinary staff executing construction projects. Supervisor Training. Preferred Qualifications: 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and currently 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher. USACE/Department of Defense (DoD) contract experience. USACE QC Training. OSHA 30-hour Training.

No Longer Accepting Applications The Summer Undergraduate Internship in Nonproliferation Studies at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS), Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS) is a paid internship. Interns will be compensated at the same rate as graduate research assistants. Internship last between 2-3 months, from early Jun to late August. Fellows are responsible for finding housing, with the assistance of the Internship Coordinator. Fellows work in close collaboration with CNS staff members on different nonproliferation issues in areas including:  Eurasia  East Asia  Chemical and Biological Weapons  International Organizations and Nonproliferation  Export Control and Nonproliferation  Middle East Nonproliferation  CNS is a pioneer in developing and applying “New Tools” in nonproliferation research and education. Our key techniques include open source information and computer modeling, namely the creative use of satellite imagery, geospatial data, 3-dimensional (3D) modeling, virtual reality environments, and social media platforms.
