LaBella is currently hiring for a Senior Structural Engineer in our Potsdam, NY office. The Structures Discipline provides structural engineering services with emphasis on new design, repair, and rehabilitation of constructed works, as well as investigation and performance evaluation. Individual must be able to work independently, as well as part of multi-discipline teams. Duties: Serves as a Lead Engineer who supervises a team of structural engineers, designers and technicians in production of structural construction documents including drawings, specifications, bidding and construction administration for large complex projects including calculation and document reviews. Develops cost effective system layouts as well as performing calculations and coordination with other disciplines. Performs site visits for documentation and cost estimating of existing systems and building conditions. Prepares technical specifications. Reviews and evaluates shop drawings and product submittals. Visits construction sites to inspect work in progress or completed. Maintains and manages budgets for projects including hours and resources. Maintains client relationships Prepares Engineering Reports. Completes complex and specialty types of design. Stays abreast of technical advancements in respective field and disseminates information to others. Works closely with regional managers on managing workload allocation and assists on the preparation of business proposals for new work. Requirements Minimum of 10+ years of experience working in the consulting engineering industry. Strong writing and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. BS in Civil Engineering is required. A New York State PE license is required. Revit Experience is a plus. Project history using computer analysis software experience is essential. We are looking for a Survey Crew Chief to fulfill the increasing needs of our clients in the Richmond, VA region. Location is flexible to Richmond and the greater surrounding area. The candidate will be responsible for the survey work preformed on-site in the field, as well as providing quality control for survey deliverables. Responsibilities Responsible for collecting data to ensure completion of a project: Locating boundary, pins, improvements, utilities, etc. while performing various project types including ALTA, boundary, construction staking, and topographic surveys. Check and reduce raw field data, perform calculations, and download/file survey data. Perform project research as needed. Follow instructions and work orders from project managers. Communicate daily with your Field Project Manager to confirm if you are on track to complete your field schedule and informing them when you are behind or ahead of schedule. Physical work environment demands: Ability to safely traverse and navigate rugged terrain in remote areas. Ability to regularly work outside in all weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, wet, and muddy conditions with high/precarious places. Ability to transport heavy equipment to various job sites (regularly lifting/moving up to 25 pounds, frequently lifting/moving up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 100 pounds). Ability to travel regionally and nationally often. Ability to work overtime including weekends as needed. We are hiring for a Principal R&D Engineer responsible for the design, development and manufacturability of specific products in accordance with the company’s Quality Manual (i.e., the quality system).  This position will ensure that assigned products are designed to meet customer requirements as well as manufacturability requirements.  Provide technical guidance to less experienced colleagues in the R&D group. Interact with other disciplines within the company to ensure appropriate process development and feedback.  Direct interface with suppliers as well as customers (physicians) may be required. Provide technical guidance and recommendations to management. Manage and act as a mentor to other engineers. Contribute to the intellectual property position of the company via invention disclosures and patent applications. Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, drawings, and processes. Maintain current knowledge of competitive technologies in addition to medical, technical, and biomedical developments related to Spirair’s products. Provide engineering and technical support of products introduced into both the domestic and international markets. Procure and oversee outside vendors and consultants as required. Maintain GMP systems, including pre-production quality assurance procedures, pre-clinical testing programs, and post production GMP compliance in coordination with the Document Control, Clinical, and Quality Assurance functions. Provide support in the resolution of product complaints and/or safety issues. Work with the Manufacturing, Clinical Affairs, Sales and Marketing, and Quality Assurance functions to coordinate pilot production of new products. Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO, and FDA regulations. Maintain a professional, credible image with key physicians, consultants, vendors, and co-workers. Perform other duties as assigned. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education and/or Job Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biology, or other science, or equivalent.  Master’s degree preferred. 10-15 years related experience in the medical device industry. Skills, Abilities, and Requirements: Proficiency in SolidWorks for solid models and dimensioned drawings. Good documentation skills. Strong computer skills and electronic data capture experience.
