Join our dynamic team as an on-site System Administrator in Manhattan, NY, collaborating with our client to enhance their enterprise IT environment. You will manage network infrastructure, servers, Meraki firewalls, switches, and access points. Your responsibilities include handling workstation imaging, provisioning, Office 365, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP administration. You will also provide first and second-level support, create and configure Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and manage Hyper-V and VMware virtualization environments. Additionally, you will oversee Microsoft Azure solutions, including virtual machines (VMs), Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), conditional access policies, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and backup/restore processes. Enjoy the flexibility of traveling to various office locations in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx to conduct site surveys and support critical IT operations.
Requirements
Position Responsibilities:
This role requires proven, hands-on experience supporting and managing live IT environments, actively working in production settings, handling live incidents, deploying configurations in real-time, and supporting end users and infrastructure in business-critical situations.
Log incidents and requests into the ITSM platform
Provide onsite, telephone, remote, and email support
Perform configurations and troubleshooting of Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, VPN Clients, Group Policy, Folder Permissions, Firewalls, Printers, Office 365, Active Directory, Azure VMs, Mac workstations, Meraki firewalls, switches, and access points, and network connectivity issues
Create, configure, and filter Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security and configuration standards across the enterprise
Configure and manage Hyper-V and VMware virtualization environments, hosts, and VMs
Provide technical support for Microsoft Office Applications and Office 365
Manage email security, policies, and configuration
Create and remove user accounts in Hybrid Active Directory and other systems, according to pre-defined templates or procedures
Image and provision desktops/laptops for new/existing users
Facilitate repairs with equipment vendors
Perform Disaster Recovery testing on network infrastructure and servers
Conduct site surveys at various locations in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx to assess and optimize IT environments
Position Requirements:
2+ years of related experience
Proven, hands-on experience supporting and managing live IT environments, including working in production settings, handling live incidents, deploying configurations in real-time, and supporting end users and infrastructure in business-critical situations
Hands-on experience with the following technologies: Windows Desktop Platforms, Windows Server, Exchange Server, Small Business Server, Active Directory, Meraki firewalls, switches and access points, DNS and DHCP administration, Mac and Microsoft Office Applications
Experience with SCCM and Intune
Experience in creating, configuring, and filtering Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
Hands-on experience with Office 365 management: user management, policy management
Experience with Azure environment: VMs, Azure AD, Conditional Policies, MFA, Backup, and Restore
Hands-on experience with MFA solutions. Preferred Microsoft MFA and DUO MFA
Experience in configuring and managing Hyper-V and VMware virtualization environments, hosts, and VMs
Up to 20% travel to other locations within the five boroughs
A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related field and 2 years related experience, or 4 years related experience and/or training
Strong customer service skills
Basic network experience: subnet, VLAN, rules
Familiar with the ticketing system (Zendesk preferred)
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with Mobile Device Management (Intune, JAMF) solutions is a plus, including experience in device enrollment, policy configuration, and security management
Preferred Certifications:
CompTIA: A+, Network +
ITIL
Microsoft: MTA, MCSA-Office365, MCSA-Windows Server 2019, MCSA-SQL Server 2019, MCSE-Service Infrastructure
