Here is link to everything great about South Bend, Indiana: http://www.ci.south-bend.in.us/   MTI is a EOE/Affirmative Action and Drug Free Workplace.     As a Process Engineer for MTI in South Bend, IN you will leverage your process or application engineering skills and manufacturing/production background or relevant academic experience in the application of one of our friction joining technologies to products manufactured by our customers world-wide.  You will also have the opportunity to investigate and correct process problems as they are identified by internal and external customers.  Your primary focus will be the support of our customers through the sales, service, contract welding, and equipment manufacturing departments. You will integrate systems and production as you identify, develop and implement improvements to the existing manufacturing processes and methods.    A background in mechanical, manufacturing, welding or metallurgical engineering is preferred as well as familiarity and functionality with SolidWorks (or another CAD program), and M2M (or a similar ERP system). Friction Welding experience will really make your resume stand out.  Your willingness to take a hands-on approach, as well as your understanding of interpreting data/trends will ensure your success in this highly visible role. Utilizing your excellent presentation and business skills to demonstrate the merits of your proven knowledge of quality improvements and innovative ideas, you will be positioning MTI for further expansion in the marketplace and future growth. You not only have a knowledge and understanding of process improvements (friction joining process and metallurgical background are pluses), but you have also successfully integrated your process background and troubleshooting expertise into fully realized projects.
