The Team The Global Product Team is responsible for broadening the global reach of SmartNews.  Primarily, we are focused on the US News market as a means to broaden our footprint and provide more people high-quality news that they find essential.  Presently, we are building a new application called NewsArc. As a Senior Infra and Release engineer on the Global Engineering team, you will improve, transform, and grow the process and operations for building and releasing our application as well as the systems that support it.  Additionally, you will be part of the broader team inventing and evolving the app on a daily basis in a fast moving environment. Responsibilities Build tools and processes that enable us to build a world class news application, delivering on iOS and Android, both through individual contribution and collaborative work, working on site in Palo Alto with engineers, designers, data scientists, and business. You are expected to rapidly iterate and learn in a fast-paced, collaborative, and international culture. 3 days a week in office. Requirements Minimum requirements Proficient (5+ years) in infrastructure and release environments, using Node.js/Typescript for backend systems, and/or using React or React Native to build cross-platform mobile and/or web applications. Experience with CI/CD, databases, release operations. Proven experience and strong willingness to thrive in high-speed, rapid-prototyping environments Full stack: understanding of and ability to fluidly work in frontend and backend systems. Interest in news (even if no previous work experience): we want people who care about and understand what we do. As a result, initially, we are on a budget until we get proof of concept so grant money can be approved for longer term. We have 40 years in AI experience and programming in house. We are a large value driven VAR working with over 1000 clients in the US. Who I'm Looking For: Someone with ERP Experience with Order Entry, Quote Forms, Purchase Order, and Inventory Transactions. Programming in Visual Studio, using Blazor Forms, C#, Radzen, and SQL Stored Procedures. Full Stack Developer. This is because much of our platform will be looking at accounting data for AI to analyze. Being in business for 45 years we have much of the code written but need to expand and add new features. We currently are using components from Radzen. Ability to work with Visual Studio, Visual Code. We have 50 percent of the AI Chat Bot written. Mostly this is about forming SQL tables with memories, chat history, and other data. You should have some knowledge with Agents. We already have the connections on our chatbot to a local LLM which we are training using vectoring and advanced learning. We have API connections to Open Chat GPT. We are working on connections to Watson, and Grok. You need to know how to work with MS SQL Express and create tables. You should feel comfortable working with API, even if in a teaching environment. Most of the technology is changing so your ability to learn and grasp new ideas is the main feature we need, and of course be a good logical thinking person who can understand how objects work and put them together in working logical format Are you located in Massachusetts (Greater Boston, MetroWest, Worcester County, or similar).
