Application Engineer Location: Indianapolis, IN Fulltime Need only US Citizens Note: We are currently filling one opening that could be a regular or exclusive telecommute opportunity. It is requested that the employee live in Indiana or northwest Ohio as the employee must be willing to travel and be in person for meetings, troubleshooting, etc. at the supervisor's discretion. Role Responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure systems software and hard Responsible for providing top tier support on infrastructure systems hardware and software. Will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in delivered solutions. Responsible for documenting completed solutions to department standards and to be leveraged for day-one operations. Major Duties And Responsibilities · Designs, installs, and provisions application solutions to meet expectations and deadlines for projects assigned. Communicates hurdles or obstacles that might potentially impact delivery of solutions on requested time frame to ensure delays are kept to a minimum. Attends project meetings as necessary and updates stakeholders on project tasks assigned. Provides IT guidance to project stakeholders as applicable. · Works with Management and Operational Staff to look for ways to improve processes, operational use, and system design based off feedback received that will ultimately lead to better member service. · Supports / troubleshoots test, development and production infrastructure systems / hardware solutions using established industry standard methods. Provides assistance for production issues that are out of reach of Infrastructure Services and Core Services staff. Maintains infrastructure systems / hardware solutions by reviewing and approving vendor updates to be performed by Infrastructure Services and Core Services teams. Tests changes (where possible) and analyses the effects of potential changes on existing solutions. Works with vendors to design and implements new infrastructure solutions to vendor / best practices. Develops documentation of the architecture, configuration, and changes to infrastructure solutions and delivered solutions. · Learns and understands technical aspects of existing and potential new infrastructure technologies, including client and server component. Advises / recommends changes / additions to software infrastructure systems. Understands the technical aspects of hardware and software used to support systems. Understands how infrastructure systems interface and work with other credit union systems and has a general understanding of the operational use of each infrastructure system. · Ensures that all policies, procedures, internal controls, and best practices are enforced to ensure that non-public and personal information is not compromised from assigned systems. · Provides both training / support to applicable Beacon staff on developed solutions and attends training opportunities to advance skill set. · Performs other related duties as assigned. Experience Three to five years of technical cantered background. Required Working Knowledge · Directory Services (LDAP, MS Active Directory, MS Entra ID), including Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP Exchange / M365 · VMware vSphere/vCenter · Server and PC operating systems including Windows OS's and Linux · Citrix DaaS, and related components · Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle SQL along with database management utilities Recommended Working Knowledge · PowerShell · Git (GitHub / Gitlab) · TCP/IP · Networking OSI model Education Equivalent to a four-year college degree. Expert/Engineer level IT Certification applicable to job responsibilities required.
