Journeyman Electrician

The Installer is an essential part of Green Power Energy's Field Operations team. As an Installer, each employee is working with the latest solar technology, building relationships with team members, and completing the installation of our products safely and on time. Green Power Energy's ideal candidate will have 2+ years of installation experience, a passion for learning basic energy system construction, terminology, and concepts. This position is an hourly role that requires working outside in extreme environments, working at heights, and prolonged periods of repetitious duties including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. Responsibilities Load job components for the project. Assembly of solar modules/array and mounting hardware. Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment. Attend training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety. 1. Install, maintain, and repair low-voltage systems, including cabling, routers, switches, access points, and other network equipment. 2. Pulling and fishing Ethernet cables to ensure proper installation and cable dressing for optimal performance. 3. Terminate Ethernet cables following industry standards for structured cabling systems. 4. Replace Enterprise network equipment such as access points and switches as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to network operations. 5. Conduct testing and troubleshooting of Wi-Fi and ethernet connections using specialized testing equipment to identify and resolve issues promptly. 6. Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless integration of low-voltage systems with the overall network infrastructure. 7. Keep accurate records of work performed, equipment installed, and configuration changes made to facilitate tracking and maintenance. 8. Provide technical support and assistance to end-users in resolving network-related issues in a timely and efficient manner. 9. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance expertise and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements 1. Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or in a similar role, with a focus on cooling, fishing, and terminating Ethernet cables. 2. Hands-on experience in replacing Enterprise network equipment like access points and switches. 3. Proficiency in using tools such as a laptop, drill, Ethernet equipment, and Ethernet testing equipment to perform job responsibilities effectively. 4. Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems, structured cabling, and network infrastructure and cable certification 5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot network issues efficiently. 7. Good communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. 8. Education and Certifications: 1. High school diploma or equivalent is required. 2. Certification in low-voltage systems, structured cabling, or related field is preferred. 3. Additional certifications in network equipment installation and maintenance are a plus. Working Conditions: 1. Position Summary The Journeyman Electrician should possess electrical knowledge/experience 7 to 10 years.  Essential Functions Bilingual in English and Spanish. Proficient in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. Adept with both high and low voltage systems. Fabricate and install wire-way hangers, Install conduit below and above ground. install assorted sizes and types of cables (thru and local) for lighting, communications, control, power, electronics, Installation of components (terminal boxes, switches, controllers, wiring harnesses, cabinets etc.) for the various electrical systems. Install main power switchboards and electrical  equipment, cut in and hookup cables for installed components. Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
