Description

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong focus and background in Building Projects to work in our Albany, NY Office. This position will work closely with engineering staff to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications and reports. Individual must be able to work independently, as well as part of multi-discipline teams producing electrical engineering documents. Responsibilities Interact closely with mechanical, civil, structural engineers and project architects Function as lead electrical engineer for multi-discipline projects, through all phases (proposal, design, bidding and construction). Perform code reviews. Delegate and monitor project tasks to junior team members. Meeting with external and internal clients. Performing building condition assessment reports. Requirements A Bachelor’s degree is required. A minimum of 10 years of experience working at an A/E consulting firm is required. New York State Professional Engineer’s license is preferred. AutoCAD and Revit experience is a plus. Experience in electrical distribution systems, power, lighting, and utilities, as well as communications, security, and fire alarm systems are desired. Physical Requirements: Sit for extended periods of time. Use a computer and keyboard. Traverse irregular and steep terrain. Provide hands-on support in the lab, including test fixture development and automation scripting for efficient testing. Travel 15–20% to Finland and international manufacturing sites for validation support and production readiness. Requirements We would love to have you on our team, if you have: 3+ years of experience validating and shipping high-volume consumer electronics, with a focus on low-power systems, sensor technologies, and wireless interfaces. Proficiency with EE lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, signal generators, and power analyzers. Familiarity with schematic and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence), with the ability to collaborate on design reviews. Prior work with wearables, optical sensing, wireless charging, or ultra-low-power systems is highly desirable.
