Job Purpose: To design, implement, and maintain high-availability software solutions on HPE NonStop systems that support real-time train control, dispatching, and crew scheduling operations. This role ensures 24/7 system uptime, performance optimization, and alignment with modernization efforts and regulatory frameworks. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Build, maintain, and enhance mission-critical applications on the HPE NonStop (Tandem) platform using TAL, C, or C++. Support real-time operational systems with highly available, fault-tolerant architecture. Design and optimize databases using NonStop SQL/MP and SQL/MX. Integrate applications with Enscribe file systems and Pathway server classes. Conduct system tuning, code optimization, and performance improvements. Troubleshoot production issues and maintain uninterrupted system availability. Participate in formal change management processes including patching, upgrades, and release coordination. Document systems and processes in accordance with compliance, audit, and operational guidelines. Work closely with QA, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure smooth solution deployment. Support modernization efforts through integration with APIs (REST, NSHTTP, iTP WebServer). Provide leadership and estimates for development tasks, contributing to release planning and technical direction. Required Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline. Minimum 7 years of experience in software development on HPE NonStop (Tandem) platforms. Proficiency in TAL, C, or C++ for real-time application development. Expertise in NonStop SQL/MP and SQL/MX including schema design, tuning, and optimization. Solid experience working with Enscribe and integrating with Pathway server processes. Proven ability to analyze system performance and resolve issues in 24/7 environments. Knowledge of secure development practices in compliance-driven settings. Strong communication and documentation skills across technical and business teams. Familiarity with formal release and change management procedures. Preferred Qualifications: HPE NonStop technical certification. Over 10 years of experience developing on Tandem platforms. Experience in industries such as transportation, logistics, or real-time dispatching. Exposure to hybrid integration models using REST APIs and HPE tools like iTP WebServer. Experience operating in SLA-governed support environments.
