The Dental Assistant will assist our Dental Hygienists in providing oral health care treatment and education services for Delta Dental’s Community Outreach “Grins on the Go” mobile clinic program. “Grins on the Go” provides preventive and urgently needed dental care to thousands of elementary and middle school-aged children each year. Essential Functions Provide dental assisting in mobile/portable clinic settings following set procedures and protocol Complete patient treatment records Perform weekly inventory; track and order supplies Oversee maintenance and care of dental equipment Assist with the transport, set-up, and dismantling of equipment and supplies for mobile/portable dental clinics Demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, values, code of ethics, and compliance/security standards. Other duties as assigned. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Experience as a Dental Assistant, preferably in an extended access setting Spanish language skills preferred, but not required Effective communication skills Conflict resolution skills Ability to recognize and understand diversity and the uniqueness of people from a wide variety of backgrounds Adaptability and flexibility in working with others to effectively reach team goals Must have ability to travel to clinics with teams to provide care, resulting in work days of varying lengths. Physical and Mental Requirements Sitting/Standing (alternatively) continuously Keyboard Use/Repetitive Hand motion continuously Must have ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and load/unload mobile clinic supplies and equipment. Skill/ability related to comprehension, organization, reasoning/decision-making and communication appropriate to position/level  Work Schedule This position is seasonal, approximately 24 hours/week, August through May. Hours and dates are subject to change. Southwest, Southeast and Southcentral Teams: 3 days/week (approximately 24 hours), Tues-Thurs during the school year 1-2 weeks of overnight travel per school year Annual 2-day meeting generally held in August at the Boise office Benefits Dental and 401K benefits are available for this part-time, seasonal position.
