Please note, this is a PERMANENT role, not a temp position. About Us: Amazing Athletes and Soccer Stars are nationally recognized youth sports programs that introduce children ages 2–10 to sports, fitness, and healthy habits in a fun, engaging way. We turn sports classes into the highlight of the week with lessons that keep kids excited to learn and play. Our goal is to help every child build confidence, coordination, and a lifelong love for physical activity. What You’ll Do: Lead fun and engaging sports and fitness classes for children ages 2–10. Travel to preschools, daycares, recreation centers, and other community locations around the Lehigh Valley. Use our proven curriculum to help kids develop a love for fitness and sports. Available Hours: Weekday mornings: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM (2–3 hour blocks) Weekday evenings: Monday–Friday (usually 2 or 3 days per week for this time slot), 4:30 PM–7:30 PM (2–3 hour blocks) Weekends: Saturdays & Sundays, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM (2–3 hour blocks) We can hire 1–3 coaches to cover these classes. You can choose the schedule that works for you—weekday mornings, evenings, weekends, or a combination. Coaches who can cover all three shifts can expect close to 20 hours per week. SUMMARY Under the direction of the Athletic Director, the Middle School Girls Basketball Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing the Middle School Girls Basketball program, focusing on player development, team strategy, and overall program success. The coach will foster a positive and respectful team culture rooted in discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork while developing players so that they might achieve a high level of skill in preparation for varsity level competition. This position requires travel and work in the evenings and weekends. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Player evaluation and development Assess players consistently and fairly to determine playing time, team positions, and readiness  Develop fundamental basketball skills and game understanding to prepare players for competition Team Leadership Foster a positive, disciplined, and respectful team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship and teamwork Design and execute organized, efficient, and purposeful practices that address individual and team needs Develop and implement effective game plans while making in-game adjustments to support player growth and team performance Supervise player behavior and conduct, ensuring a safe environment during practices, games, and travel Coordinate with the athletic directors to align systems, terminology, and expectations Student athlete support and mentorship Serve as a positive role model, encouraging personal growth, accountability, and a strong work ethic both on and off the court Encourage student-athletes to maintain eligibility and prioritize their education Maintain clear and respectful communication with players, parents, varsity coaching staff, and school administration and the schools athletic directors. Ability to act professionally, use discretion, and maintain the highest level of confidentiality  Ability to make decisions and handle conflicts  Problem-solving skills and creativity EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required Deep understanding of basketball fundamentals, rules, and regulations Ability to develop game plans and adjust strategies during games Experience with player development and skill progression Useful/Preferred Experience coaching at the high school, competitive club, or collegiate level PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Must be able to assist with athletes of various weights and heights Must be able to stand for long periods of time, have good mobility skills and be able to walk long distances Must be able to carry training kits and coolers for long distances Use strength to lift items, raising objects from lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move athletic equipment weighing up to 50 pounds Must be able to bend at hips and knees Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Are you passionate about sports and helping young children stay active? Join our team at Amazing Athletes JumpBunch of Southern CT as a Youth Sports Coach for toddlers and preschoolers! In this role, you'll have the opportunity to teach children ages 18 months to 6 years the basic fundamentals of various sports in a fun and non-competitive environment. Our goal is to encourage healthy habits and build confidence in young athletes while ensuring they have a great time! This position offers flexibility with part-time hours and competitive pay. Classes are typically held in the mornings and early afternoons, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule. Requirements - Must be reliable to work a set schedule, but can be flexible on the days of the week. Coaches work primarily in the morning and early afternoon. - Experience working with toddlers and preschool-aged children (professional experience is preferred but not mandatory). - A positive attitude and a love for sports and teaching young children. - Must be at least 18 years old and possess a clean criminal background check. - Reliable transportation is required for traveling to different locations within the community. This job requires traveling of upwards of 30 minutes or more. Long distance travel will be reimbursed. - CPR certification is a plus, though not required. - Ability to maintain a positive relationship with parents, teachers, and staff at daycare/preschool locations. Be the face and product of Soccer Stars in each class - interact with parents, directors, club board members and children. Deliver energetic and enjoyable coaching sessions in line with Soccer Stars progressive curriculum. Report directly to the territory manager on all aspects of roles, responsibilities and expectations related to all aspects of coaching role. Effectively engage and challenge all players, and to help them accomplish development goals and milestones, and to inspire a love of soccer in a fun, team-based environment. Effectively and clearly communicate issues to the leadership team and have a solution orientated mindset to challenges. Being punctual to all training sessions and games allowing enough time for commuting to locations. Provide hands-on individual and group attention to players in training sessions. Identify and recommend players for advanced Soccer Stars United programming with the club. Requirements Own reliable transportation and willing to travel up to 45-minutes one-way to get to class locations. Must be able to commit to a 10-week season (September-Mid November). Punctual, willing to learn and accept feedback. Experience in or have a strong desire to work in a youth soccer club environment. Prior experience working with children preferred. Must be motivated, energetic, patient, and attentive. Ability to work with different age groups. Must be adaptable on the field to give players the best experience possible. Hands-on, dynamic, and outgoing. Must possess a minimum of a grassroots coaching license.
