As a Product Architect, you will offer your agile methodology experience as part of a dynamic and passionate team of industry-leading individuals supporting the best practices in Agile Software Development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). You will bring creative ideas to solve complex problems, both technical and procedural at the team and portfolio levels. The ability to be adaptable and to work constructively with a technically diverse and geographically separated team will be key to the overall success. You will bring experience in managing teams of engineers and will be responsible for all aspects of application architecture and success. Requirements 7+ years of relevant work experience. Professional experience operating within cross-functional teams and groups. 3 – 5 years’ experience in incremental software development projects such as the Agile Scrum approach. · Experience in Object Oriented Design and Development (OODD), Domain Driven Design (DDD), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Micro-Services and client/server architecture. Experience in systems development, systems integration, application design with the ability to work with the team of Business Analysts and UI/UX developers on designing, envisioning, and transforming mockups into fully functional user interfaces using Angular or other JavaScript UI frameworks. Experience designing APIs and microservices using Spring Boot that integrate with the UI. Experience with a variety of technologies with emphasis on Java; Spring Boot, Spring framework, Hibernate, JPA (or other ORM), JAX-RS, JavaScript, XML, JSON, Web-Services (JAX-WS or JAX-RS), Eclipse, maven, Junit, and shell scripting. Experience with database design, SQL or PL/SQL Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL Server. Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, CloudBees, or Bamboo. Experience with containerization platforms such as Docker and Orchestration tools such as Kubernetes. · Experience with Configuration Management and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as, CloudFormation, Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet. Experience in the agile management framework. Good ability to anticipate issues and formulate remedial actions. Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with Developers, Program Managers, Testers, and Production Support Engineers to implement innovative technical solutions via iterative approach reducing time to delivery. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related technical discipline. Must be a US Citizen with the ability to pass and maintain a CBP Background Investigation. In this role you will: As a technical lead for an agile team, you are responsible for all aspects of application architecture including user interface, APIs, microservices, databases and infrastructure. Maintain sound understanding and alignment of enterprise and program level architecture. Liase with business analysts to understand client business needs and develop technical solutions that meet those needs while also complying with enterprise and program level architecture and standards. Present and evangelize technical solutions to architecture guilds and management teams. Work with business analysts and scrum master to create implementation/development plans and schedules for new features/applications/solutions through agile decomposition into features, epics, and stories. Participate in Agile ceremonies by acting as the voice in all technical aspects, including leading platform demos to Product Owners and / or all applicable stakeholders. Collaborate with the SecDevOps team to onboard new applications to the cloud-based infrastructure. Evangelize developed solutions to team members and work with them to decompose stories into actionable tasks and assist in completing in a timely fashion. Motivate developers and testers by creating a space where they can ask questions, voice their concerns, and discuss technical solutions / implementations. Keep up to date with industry trends, developments, and standards to review with the team and program level architects. Delegate tasks and ensure all daily, sprint, and release goals are achieved. Lead architecture design and review sessions, as required, to ensure initiatives are aligned with the program future state. Design solutions, in a Multi-Tenant Cloud Architecture, that will support legacy .NET, Java, and COTS client/server applications. Identify risks, opportunities, compliance issues, and / or other architectural concerns. Participate in Agile Scrum sprint planning, artifact creation, sprint testing, regression testing, demonstrations, retrospectives, and solution releases. Develop product teams technical skills through mentoring, coaching, and peer reviews.
