Substitution: Four (4) years of verifiable full-time work experience in electronic maintenance (troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electronic and/or electro-mechanical equipment) can be substituted for the education. Other Requirements: Must possess adequate color vision and be physically capable of working in confining workspaces and lifting equipment weighing up to 70 pounds. Star Academy, a small non-public school for students with learning disabilities, needs a van driver. Applicants must have a clean DMV record, must clear DOJ and FBI fingerprinting, must have a TB clearance, and must be sensitive to the special needs of our population. We have students from all over the Bay Area who we transport to our school in San Rafael. This particular need is for a driver to transport 5 students at a time to Berkeley/Oakland on days school is in session. The driver would start in San Rafael, driving one of our newer and well-maintained vans, pick up students, and then drive them home in the afternoon. The pay for these routes depends on the destination, this route pays $77.00 per day. Approximate drive time is 2.5 hours. There is potential for additional routes. Pay is determined by the route. This is a contract position so that means drivers are paid per trip. Drivers are expected to be reliable, responsible, to be able to communicate clearly and respectfully with the Transportation Coordinator, with parents, with school staff, and above all, with students, and to maintain student safety at all times.
