ShareJob Summary: Primary responsibilities are to set up, run trouble-shoot and lead the production/output of the company’s Digital Printing Equipment, and prepare printed products for distribution/shipping. Essential Job Functions: • Performs other job duties as assigned. • Digital Printing operators operate the digital press(s) on a specific shift, performing those duties in safe and effective operation of a Printing Press. • Reads instructions from the work order form and sets up the press (printer) in accordance to those instructions. • Performs, or knows how to perform and can/ and does instruct others to perform all duties related to the make-ready of a printer. • Performs or knows how to perform and can/ and does instruct others to perform certain preventive maintenance on printer(s) such as lubrication, replacement of small parts, replacement of rollers etc. Also works in conjunction with maintenance man to keep equipment in good running condition. • Keeps immediate work area neat and orderly. • Performs all tasks related to digital print production. • Knows capabilities of printer(s), type of fold, max number of colors, etc. • Responsible for always knowing the overall condition of printers. • Responsible for knowing always mix and obtain proper color match or sees to it that proper color is being used on the press per the specific job(s) being run and according to specifications. • Follows all QC procedures and adheres to and knows how to inspect job and meet acceptable quality standard according to specifications. • Must be able to stand for long periods of time. The normal shift for this position is a 12-hour shift, and the incumbent in this job must be able to stand for much of the 12-hour shift, tending to printer and related tasks and duties. • Due to the nature of our work and our reputation for service, employees are expected to stand ready to work overtime when requested. The work week is 35 - 50 hours per week. • Lifting is a requirement in this job. The incumbent in this job must be able to lift 20-25 pounds occasionally. Usual weight is 10-20 pounds (printed pages). • Performs other tasks as requested or required.
