Established flooring subcontractor looking for experienced & reliable flooring and ceramic tile mechanics. Our company specializes in fast track grocery and retail store flooring throughout the Northeast and New York State. Our area of expertise is installation of all resilient products including, but not limited to, VCT, LVT, carpet tile, entry mats, ceramic tile, rubber, polished concrete, epoxy, vinyl base, stair treads etc. Must be willing to work day or night shifts as needed as well as out of town jobs. Out of town jobs will have hotel rooms provided and include daily food stipends. Applicants must have all tools to complete resilient and ceramic tile installations. Must have valid driver's license and reliable form of transportation. We are not looking for subcontractors as this time. We offer competitive pay, health insurance, 401(k) and bonuses. Painter Responsibilities: - Prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling holes, and repairing cracks - Mix, match, and apply paints and other finishes to various surfaces - Use brushes, rollers, or sprayers to apply paint or other finishes - Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape to protect surrounding areas - Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers - Sand and/or scrape off old paint or loose debris from surfaces - Spray custom finishes (lacquer, paint, and custom coatings) - Cleanup work areas and remove materials Frequent lifting and carrying painting equipment, occasional lifting up to 65 lbs. paint cans, pulling, standing, walking, reaching, sitting, kneeling, occasional crawling and reclining, frequent climbing, balancing, pushing, occasional arm rotation, frequent manual and finger dexterity. Hearing warning signals and reading and comprehending safety instructions. Must be able to maintain general safety awareness and avoid hazards commonly present in employee’s work area. Required Qualifications: Must participate in and pass background screening and employment verification. Must keep a clean and professional work area and appearance. Reliable transportation to and from work is required. Two to five years of experience with a reputable painting company or possession of a painting certification from an accredited institution preferred. Must have knowledge of surface preparation procedures, proper use and mixing of paints. Must have the ability to read and understand the Product Data Sheet. Must have the ability to identify paint application requirements and equipment needed for coating application. Must be able to operate high-reach equipment. Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and work any shift. Must be able to access and move around safely; must have the ability to observe differences in color.
