We're proud to bring our carefully curated, interesting, small-production, esoteric, and hard-to-find products to home and professional bartenders and beer and wine enthusiasts in an engaging, friendly retail environment. We are currently looking for a store manager to lead our Berkeley location. The Store Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of their store. The Manager is ultimately responsible for the condition of the store and for training and supervising the sales associates in that store. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 11 AM – 7 PM. The Store Manager will be the primary point of contact for sales associates within the store. The Store Manager will report to the Director of Retail Operations. Primary Responsibilities • Create the schedule for employees • Train employees and set standards and goals for the sales associates • Delegate responsibilities daily • Ensure employees clock in and out and review the time clock daily • Ensure that lunch breaks are taken in a way that complies with the law • Maintain store cleanliness and organization • Order and reorder products that are chosen by the buying team—maintaining inventory levels at acceptable ROI and turn rates • Receive inventory • Create, communicate, and receive transfers • Ensure products remain faced on the shelves • Organize perpetual inventory counts by section and negative on hand control • Understand the flow of inventory between locations • Assist sales staff with problems (orders, inventory, initial technical, etc.) • Set the customer service standard for the team in compliance with company guidelines • Ensure store compliance with company policies and procedures • Follows the law regarding the sale and consumption of alcoholic products • Liaise with wine/beer/spirit buyers to develop a coherent product mix for the store Qualifications Job candidates should show evidence of the following skills: • A 4-year college degree • Extreme attention to detail • Strong interpersonal, motivational, and managerial skills • Strong customer service and positive attitude • Ability to think independently • Ability to be fair and dispassionate when mediating conflict • Proficiency with IT • Good organization • Product knowledge • Time management and planning ability Benefits • Annual compensation $52000-70000, hourly compensation ranging from $25/hr - $34/hr • 401(k) with employer match • Heath insurance • Dental insurance • Vision insurance • Parental leave • Casual environment • Commuter benefits • Company-sponsored manager trips • Company-sponsored educational and brand events • Company-sponsored certifications (WSET, Certified Sommelier, Cicerone) • Discount on products purchased within the store Please send your cover letter and resume to apply.
