Reporting to the Director of Social Services Programs, the Program Supervisor will be the direct supervisor to a team of Parent Partners and Family Support Specialist. Supervision will be accomplished through weekly group and/or individual supervision, crisis management, and providing other supportive services to staff. Supervisors may accompany staff on home visits to assist with assessments and family engagement. This is a unique position directly supervising up to 6 staff. ARS Parent Partners are an incredible group of parents who have experienced the Alameda County Child Welfare System as clients and now have returned to provide community resource linkages to families in need of stabilization. ARS Family Support Specialist provides support to parents experiencing difficult life situations and/or parenting challenges as they connect parents to community resources and help re-stabilize the family. The Program Supervisor also helps to ensure that culturally sensitive and family friendly engagement practices permeate throughout the program. While it does represent a step away from direct service, the program’s deep commitment to work-force development and support calls on many of the same skills that are required of a peer professional, case manager, or clinician serving our families. Duties and Responsibilities: -Provide direct weekly individual reflective supervision to all assigned staff, providing participatory goal setting to support staff with meeting program deliverables and improving professional development. -Supervise and closely monitor all duties and workload of assigned staff -Review, monitor, and provide feedback weekly to assigned staff in case management and committee work duties, agency/program deadlines, and contract deliverables -Responsible for co-facilitating reflective group supervision weekly and providing ongoing feedback and training to all staff; including co-planning and executing group activities to improve staff development and skills. -Teach case management under a family system umbrella, utilizing the Be Strong Protective Factors -Coach staff in their outreach to families at risk of child abuse and neglect; maintain ongoing contact with client families and other service providers to monitor service delivery and assess needs. -Coach staff to build positive relationships with their peers following a team-based approach -Compile and submit data collection for various contract reporting; monthly, quarterly, and annually -Maintain a variety of records, logs, and files; electronically store and retrieve documents as required -Responsible for supervising and monitoring staff who facilitate parent café/support groups, including monitoring the group’s progress, implementation of group curriculum, implementing outreach strategies, crisis management and submission of data reporting and compilation to the Director monthly. -Work closely with Alameda County Liaison and other community providers while providing, eliciting feedback and evaluation of staff to ensure high quality service delivery to parents. -Provide professionalism and work skill development training as needed for staff; including 1:1 shadowing to support staff performance -Collaborate closely with the ARS and Social Services Programs Leadership team around continued program development and training for all social services staff -Coach staff to agency mission and value-driven competence. -Attend all necessary agency meetings including but not limited to program staff meetings, County Meetings, committee meetings, -Agency meetings and Management Team Meetings. -Some schedule flexibility required for evenings and/or weekend events -Perform all other duties as necessary for the good of the program and agency Qualifications: -Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, or related field -A clinical background is preferred, but applicants with minimum of 5 years of experience working as a peer support professional will also be considered -Personal life experience navigating one of the following systems on behalf of a family member is preferred: child welfare, juvenile justice, criminal justice system, special education support, developmental services, and mental health. -Very strong supervision and management skills utilizing reflective practices, solution focused, and participatory goal setting is required. -Knowledge and skills to effectively deliver staff training and techniques for successful staff supervision and team building. -Leadership skills and ability to respond calmly and professionally to unexpected situations. -Ability to work in a demanding environment with frequent interruptions. -Experience working with adults in recovery and training and experience in Motivational Interviewing preferred. -Experience working with parents, children, and/or families involved with the child welfare system required. -Understanding of Family-Driven services and parent advocacy required. -Excellent writing and communication skills -Excellent critical thinking, organizational and time management skills -Understanding of and ability to teach clinical case management under a family systems approach. -Valid CA driver’s license and good driving record. -Must be able to pass all required background checks.
