Signature Graphics is a locally-owned, full-service heatset and coldset commercial printer with direct mail advertising and graphic design businesses located in NE Portland, Oregon with approximately 150 employees. Since opening in 1984, Signature has become one of the largest printers in the Pacific Northwest, and we are currently looking for Finishing General Workers to help with finalizing products after going through the printing phase. The Finishing General Worker loads paper advertisements onto an inserting machine hopper and/or removes inserted paper products from the inserter machine and bundles copies using a strapping machine, then stacks finished product onto pallets. JOB DUTIES:: • Performs work in Mailing, Bindery, or Inserting as required • Assists in operation of equipment and performs other related tasks as required • Helps to minimize product waste to reasonable levels • Ability to work within deadlines, make appropriate decisions and work independently • Ability to function comfortably in a fast-paced, performance-based warehouse environment • Punctual and attends work in a regular and reliable manner • Self-motivated, positive and a cooperative team player Night shift is 7:00PM -7:00AM BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Must follow safety guidelines at all times Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. This position assists the Resident Manager with the physical maintenance of the project and equipment as it pertains to the common areas, grounds and individual units. Job tasks include but may not be limited to the following • Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the community by ensuring that grounds, amenities, building exteriors/interiors, market-ready units interior, walkways, curbs, signage, leasing office, central garbage areas, parking lots and other buildings and common areas are free of debris, trash, graffiti and other items which affect the appearance of the community. All deficiencies and safety issues are reported immediately. • Respond to resident requests for maintenance and service by taking appropriate action to repair and/or restore service within the quality and time standards established by the company. • Ensure that apartments are ready for occupancy by performing any repairs that may require electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliance repair, carpet cleaning, painting, patching, texturing, basic apartment cleaning and other miscellaneous equipment maintenance and repairs. • Maintain tools and equipment and ensure that they are in proper working order and request replacements as necessary. • Make sure all outside contractors or subcontractors provide certificates of insurance for workers compensation insurance or waivers when applicable and provide proof of a contractor’s license. • Know the location of the main water line cutoff, all apartment and fixture cutoffs, main gas line cutoff, and the sewer cleanouts. • Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning windows, dusting, emptying wastebaskets, picking up litter, etc. Experience, Knowledge and Skills: • Maintenance experience in the multi-family, hospitality, or similar industry • Competency in residential plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, painting, and drywall • Knowledge of and experience in HVAC and carpentry a plus • Customer service experience
