THE POSITION The Associate Architect is an emerging professional that has demonstrated mid-career level knowledge of Architectural practices including client interaction, project scoping and scheduling, conceptual construction costs, building code and Accessibility Standards fluency, freehand sketching, design and drafting software, consultant coordination construction site observation/administration and project close-out. IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT The ideal candidate will be a licensed architect with previous experience working with a government agency and/or worked as a consultant on public sector projects. This position is well suited for an individual that has a solid understanding of the entire spectrum of the Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. Because there is a wide variety of project types, this is great opportunity to expand one’s technical experience, construction site observation and constructability issues, all within the specialized knowledge of public contracting. In addition to a strong technical background, the ideal candidate must be a skilled communicator that can articulate project goals to a variety of City department representatives, professional services consultants and contractors.
