Part-time Fine Gardener Happy Seed is hiring a crew member for our fine gardening crew. This position is part time (Mon/Tues/Wed), and on-site at various residential gardens around the East Bay. Fine gardening differs from conventional “mow & blow” maintenance in many ways. Fine gardeners work with nature, observing local conditions and plant responses to create a thriving ecosystem. Happy Seed is primarily focused on native, drought tolerant, and pollinator gardens. Duties include: ⁃ Detailed plant care such as pruning, deadheading, and pest/disease management. ⁃ Weeding and debris removal with high attention to detail. ⁃ Garden installation including planting, mulching, and irrigation. Applicants must have their own reliable transportation. Plant knowledge and relevant horticultural experience is a plus, however, no experience is necessary. Compensation: $28-30/hr depending on experience.
