Front of House Team Member Location: Oradell, NJ Reports to: General Manager About The Local The Local is a neighborhood spot serving up high-quality burgers, chicken, and shakes in a fast-casual setting. We care about great food, good vibes, and a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. Position Summary As a Front of House (FOH) Team Member, you’re the face of The Local. You’ll greet guests with a smile, take and serve orders, keep the dining area clean and organized, and make sure every customer leaves happy. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities • Greet customers warmly and assist with menu questions and recommendations. • Take accurate orders using the POS system and ensure smooth handoff to the kitchen. • Deliver food and beverages promptly and ensure quality presentation. • Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, beverage station, and restrooms. • Handle payments and balance cash drawers when applicable. • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure fast, accurate service. • Manage takeout and online orders efficiently. • Monitor customer satisfaction and handle complaints or feedback professionally. • Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned. Qualifications • Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred but not required. • Strong communication and people skills. • Reliable, punctual, and a team player. • Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure. • Basic math and point-of-sale (POS) system skills. • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
