Field Application (Sales) Engineering Manager Chicago IL (SW Suburb) Onsite   We are seeking an experienced Field Application Engineering (FAE) Manager to lead and develop our team of Field Application Engineers. This role ensures our FAEs are technically strong, commercially savvy, and consistently aligned with company standards while supporting sales growth and delivering exceptional customer solutions. As the FAE Manager, you will oversee team performance, career development, resource allocation, and department operations. You will also play a key role in new product launches, ensuring FAEs are prepared with the knowledge, tools, and training needed to support customers effectively. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development ·        Lead and support FAEs across the multiple divisions of the organization. ·        Establish and maintain standardized processes for customer applications, product designs, and technical support. ·        Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance management to strengthen technical and commercial skills. ·        Assign resources strategically to align with sales initiatives and regional priorities. Customer & Sales Support ·        Partner with Regional Vice Presidents and sales teams to align FAE support with business growth objectives. ·        Ensure FAEs provide timely, accurate technical solutions and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. ·        Facilitate collaboration between FAEs, engineering, and product management to improve designs and address field challenges. ·        Lead customer visits and presentations, providing technical expertise as needed. ·        Develop and execute support plans for new product launches, ensuring FAEs are fully equipped to position and support innovations. ·        Collaborate with marketing to provide FAEs with tools, documentation, and sales collateral. ·        Travel 20–30% to support FAEs in the field and strengthen customer relationships. Operational & Financial Oversight ·        Manage department travel and expense budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources. ·        Monitor team performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth. ·        Drive process improvements to optimize efficiency and streamline collaboration with engineering and order management.   Requirements Qualifications ·        Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field required; MBA preferred. ·        8+ years of experience in field application engineering, technical sales, or a related role. ·        Proven leadership experience managing technical teams. ·        Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power grid automation, and related technologies. ·        Excellent communication, organizational, and strategic planning skills. ·        Willingness to travel 20–30%. ·        Must be willing to work onsite daily, this is not a remote position.
