SEEKING PROJECT MANAGER/ESTIMATOR Fontana Construction Inc. is a Marin based General Contractor that specializes in high-end residential construction. We are seeking a Project Manager/Estimator to join our team. Ideal candidate will have both project management and estimating experience. Must be able to manage and oversee projects and assist our head estimator with bid preparation on an "as-needed" basis. Requirements: Residential project management experience, minimum of 5 years. Residential estimating experience, minimum of 5 years. Be extremely organized and very detailed oriented. Be able to work efficiently on your own without constant supervision. Competently and accurately read and interpret construction drawings and details. Ability to prepare detailed instructions to bidders. Be able to analyze subcontractor proposals for accuracy and completeness. Must have clear understanding of all phases of High-End Custom Residential, Home Building, and Remodeling. Be able to clearly communicate in a professional manner with Owners, Architects, Designers, and Building Officials. Work in fast paced and sometimes stressful environments. Computer literate and proficiency with Microsoft products, especially Excel, and other cloud based systems such as Dropbox and Smartsheets. Strong written and oral communication skills. General Position Description The maintenance technician will perform a variety of tasks on a 25-acre residential property. The technician will handle basic tasks in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting. The team keeps the units, buildings, and equipment maintained and repaired; handles unit inspections; responds to after-hour maintenance calls; ensures that the department has the required materials and supplies in inventory; works cooperatively with contractors and vendors servicing the property; and assists with keeping the maintenance shop in good order. The technician will participate in heavy lifting, appliance removal and installation, digging, cleaning, and other manual labor tasks as required. Desired Attributes and Qualifications • Work experience in general maintenance in the areas of plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting • Hardworking, able to lift 75 lbs, walk up and down hills/stairs, stand for periods of time, bend and otherwise move freely to satisfactorily handle job duties • Good people skills, team player • Able to speak, read, and write English and communicate ideas to meet the requirements of the job • History of good attendance, following procedures, and staying on schedule • Computer knowledge in entering information into a database and email helpful • Driver license, current auto insurance, and satisfactory driver’s abstract
