Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Office Manager/Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. This job can begin as part-time working up to full-time, depending on needs of the candidate and Ear Bar. Duties Manage the overall operations of the medical office, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Oversee budgeting processes and financial management to optimize resource allocation. Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure effective utilization management and quality patient care. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Supervise staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to foster a productive work environment. Implement and manage electronic health record systems such as Practice Fusion and Tebra for streamlined operations. Collaborate with insurance companies for managed care agreements and billing processes. Ensure the office runs smoothly by addressing any issues related to acute care services or patient inquiries. Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and government payers. Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 ensure accurate billing. Review and verify medical records for completeness and accuracy before billing. Follow up on unpaid claims, perform medical collections, and resolve discrepancies. Perform and follow-through on any any necessary pre-authorizations for imaging, procedures, etc. Maintain patient confidentiality while handling sensitive medical information. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records or billing issues. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Office Manager and Medical Billing Specialist or similar role in a hospital or medical office setting. Strong knowledge of medical records management, utilization management, and healthcare regulations. Familiarity with electronic health record systems (PracticeFusion and Kareo/Tebra) is highly desirable. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare providers. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating leadership capabilities. Proficiency in medical coding and familiarity with medical terminology is essential. Experience with medical collection processes and systems is advantageous. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required to manage multiple tasks effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A degree in healthcare administration or related field is preferred but not mandatory. Experience with ENT billing and hearing aid prior authorization, purchasing, collections is a plus. Training will start on: -Saturday 10/4 at 8 AM The substitute caregiver is needed to care for a 60 year-old paralyzed man, while his regular caregiver is on vacation. IMPORTANT: Please note that although this job is labeled as "Full-Time" – if you're an experienced caregiver, then there will be a LOT of downtime. However, you would need to assist the patient whenever needed. OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Patient is a 195 pound, 6 foot tall paralyzed male. The substitute caregiver must be strong enough to move the patient from one side of the bed to the other, in order to prevent pressure sores on the patient's skin. I've had many caregivers who were only a fraction of my weight, and they were able to easily move me from one side of the bed to the other – as long as they used correct nursing methods. During the day, the patient needs to be turned approximately 2-4 times. Overnight, the patient usually sleeps all night with no rotations. Patient has a quiet and easy-going personality. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide full-time, live-in caregiving. A Registered Nurse (RN) will visit 3 times per week to manage medications and some toileting. The caregiver must be strong enough and able to turn the patient in bed in order to to prevent the patient from getting pressure sores. The patient has an ostomy for urine. The urine drains into a 2 liter (2L) bag on the side of the bed. You must empty this bag at least 2-3 times a day. A Registered Nurse (RN) usually changes the patient's urinary ostomy appliance. However, you must be able to change the ostomy appliance by yourself if needed. You will be trained on how to do this. The patient can also help provide some limited instructions to you on how to do this. The patient eats about 2-3 times per day and occasionally 1-2 snacks. The foods are in the refrigerator, freezer, or kitchen cabinets. If needed, the foods can be easily microwaved. BENEFITS: -$2,380 (17 days at $140 per day) -MUCH free time! -Your own private bedroom with 32 inch cable TV, walk-in closet, and bathroom -Access to entire home (kitchen, dining room, laundry, etc.). You must provide your own meals. There are numerous grocery stores, fast food places, and restaurants nearby. -Ideally, the new caregiver would be a homebody but would still have the freedom to occasionally go out, as long as sufficient advance notice is given to the patient. -The Ashburn metro station (on the Silver line) is approximately 10-15 minutes away from the patient's condo.
