SUMMARY: The Material Handler II receives, stores, and distributes material, equipment, and products within the establishment by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Work within company guidelines and policies to ensure warehouse functions are consistent with procedures defined for this level after being trained. •Weighs or counts items for receiving and distribution to multiple manufacturing plants in San Diego. •Fills requisitions and work orders or issues material for distribution to assembly lines using manual and computerized programs. •Packs finished goods and materials for shipment to customer locations using various freight carrier methods and systems •Receives material components and assemblies from suppliers to support manufacturing, engineering, and customer service operations. •Performs other related duties as needed or assigned. •Knowledge of UPS, FED EX applications REQUIREMENTS: •High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. •Excellent reading, writing, and math skills. •Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. •Good communications skills •Strong computer skills •Ability to meet deadlines •Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. •Skill: Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete the assigned task. •Job Complexity: Works on semi-routine assignments but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice. •Supervision: Normally follows established procedures on routine work; requires instruction only on new assignments.
