Quality Inspector We have immediate need of Quality Inspectors for a metal manufacturing company located in Santa Fe Springs, CA. Company is one of the leading manufacturer producing top-of-the-line metal products. Anything from metal stamping, laser cutting, wiring, coils and any other fabrication. This position is temp to hire for the right candidate. Schedule: Monday- Friday (Saturdays when needed) Shift: 7am-3:30pm (possible time base on production needs) Pay: $20.00-$25.00 based on experience Position Overview Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process to ensure the quality of the product is maintained throughout. Provides input on day to day issues and works with manufacturing to resolve discrepancies. Primary Job Functions Understand procedures related to the Quality department Read BLUEPRINTS Conduct quality inspections of produced products and materials Complete hand on hand inspections Use calipers, Micrometers and comparators Assist with the processing of any rework orders as needed Other duties can be assigned Requirements Preferably 1 year experience utilizing Quality Control practices Must be able to lift up to 25-50 pounds. JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE • Helps / assists on various machine and areas within the plant • Cross-trains on other machines. • Switches duties with Assistant when necessary. • Reports all equipment deficiencies or malfunctions requiring maintenance or repair to the proper Supervisor. • Adheres to production schedule and communicates any unusual scheduling issues to supervisor. • Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals. • Monitors orders throughout the production run. • Pulls samples as needed. • Follows first article processes as posted near machine. • Prints WIP(Work in Progress) and FG (Finished goods) load tags. • Ensures the compliance of safety guidelines. • Wears the proper safety equipment for the environment including safety glasses and steel toe shoes. • Keeps work areas neat and orderly, maintaining halls and floors free of slip and trip hazards, and removing of waste materials. • Maintains machine on a regular basis, dusting the top of the machine weekly. • Will stack or feed on machines from time to time or as needed • Performs other related duties as needed. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES • High School diploma/GED required • At least 2 years experience with Esko (Packaging and Display Industry experience is ideal). • Ability to understand software maintenance while continuously improving processes. • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively cross-functionally. • Strong organizational & communication skills: Writing, Speaking • Ability to recommend and implement customer solutions to drive top and bottom-line improvement. • Ability to handle multiple projects within a fast pace work environment. • Interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment. TECHNICAL SKILLS The individual must have a working knowledge of the following: 1. Read tape measure with speed and accuracy 2. Calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate 3. Apply concepts of high school math 4.
