As a Sawmill Utility Worker, you keep our sawmill running smoothly and safely by assisting in operations whenever needed. Your day-to-day tasks include: • Operating lifts, debarker, band mill, gang saw, trimmer, and other equipment. • Following proper operating procedures for all machinery. • Welding and performing routine maintenance on equipment. • Operating wood and gas boilers. • Assisting other operators and changing gang saws and blades. • Using computer skills to report production or maintenance needs. • Performing daily inspections and reporting unsafe conditions. • Wear required protective equipment and follow safety procedures at all times. • Report injuries, accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately. • Ensure all machinery and welding operations are handled safely and responsibly. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR. • 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent. • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a similar environment. • Willingness to learn, help teammates, and follow strict safety guidelines. • Valid driver’s license required. • Practice safe work practices by lifting properly, wearing protective equipment/clothing (safety glasses, footwear, hardhats, hearing protection, etc. as needed) and maintain a safe work environment always. • You are energetic, reliable, and work well individually and as a team member. • You work well under time constraints and can ensure deadlines are met.
