I'm an experienced designer in Fusion 360 looking to take the next step into hands-on CNC machining. For the past several years, I’ve created small-part prototypes in 6061 aluminum and 304L stainless steel, working with local shops to bring designs to life. Now, I want to learn the full process myself — from CNC setup to programming, fixturing, and machining. What I’m Looking For: Private lessons or structured CNC training Shop owner or machinist willing to mentor in exchange for paid lessons, help with shop tasks, or mutually beneficial project work Entry-level or apprenticeship opportunities in a machine shop environment Skills & Background I Bring: Solid CAD/CAM experience in Fusion 360 Understanding of tolerances, fit, and finish for small parts Prototyping experience in aluminum and stainless Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and quick learner Primary interest is in milling, but I also have small turning projects I’d like to tackle.
