Description

Hi, and Thanks for reading my ad. I am going to first share a little about me and my company, then what I am looking for. My Name Is Ken, I am the owner of Fresh Look Painting and Midwest Painting, and we are now located out of Murfreesboro, TN. I am new to the area (3 days new) but I have been in the Painting business for 41 years plus and have owned and operated in business since 1996. We are from the Midwest, and I have kept 15 guys at all times working year-round, sometimes a little more. And I plan on doing the same here if not bigger. I am a Family man, who does not drink or do drugs. I work hard getting work/jobs and I am good at it. I treat my Painters as I want to be treated and expect no less. My customers are very important to me because without them, we have no work, and we struggle. I am 57 years old, fat and out of shape (lol) but again I work hard keeping my guys and girls busy. Thats a little about me, now for what I am looking for: I am looking for other Family men, who are responsible and hardworking, Painters that don't need to be babysat. I need reliable guys that show up to work daily without the BS Excuses. Because when I tell a customer, that someone is going to be there, they need to be, so we do not look unreliable and so I do not have to struggle to fill the gap from other jobs where other painters are scheduled to be. I'm not looking for those guys that want to sit on their phones all day and smoke cigarettes all day long. Phone calls are ok for break time and family emergencies or something important. As for smoking, I prefer there is no smoking while at work, but if you do smoke, please only on breaks and must be in your car (no cigarette butts on the customer's property). I don't care about music on job sites as long as the whole neighborhood can't hear it or every other word is a swear word. Absolutely no fighting with other guys on your crew. Absolutely no drinking or drugs or coming in drunk or hungover to wear you cannot properly do your job. No using customer's sinks to wash anything out, I prefer you wrap things and either bring them home or use their garden hose and clean them in the yard someone out of the way. If you are doing 2nd story work, you must have another person holding and supporting your ladder at all times. Drop cloths must be used every inch of where you are painting. I know we are all good, but accidents do happen. And most important, I am not a Bank, I cannot afford to loan money, and I cannot afford to give money daily. I can't give daily gas money or food money etc... I know life is a struggle, but I didn't put you in your current position, I am trying to help you get out of your current position, so you are no longer struggling. I pay weekly or at the end of each job, whichever comes first or whichever we agree upon. I pay in Cash. You must have transportation. You must be neat in appearance, and you must wear deodorant (sorry but it's not nice to make others smell something worse than the products we use). Now the Painters that I am looking for: Must be experienced (not every Painter does have 15 years' experience and trust me, it will show), Must be reliable, Hardworking, Neat and stay on task to make deadlines. You must wear Painter's whites (it makes us look professional). Have your own hand tools, Brushes (and no not a 3 pack of Home Depot brushes, lol), 5 in 1's, Roller set ups, cut cans, screw drivers, Caulk guns and whatever hand tools you will need to start and complete a job. I will supply the paints, tape, naps and so on. You move to the front of the line, if you have ladders, sprayers, drops and power washers. I do give a rental fee for use of your own things. As for Interviews, I do my interviews in the field where it can be proven you are a professional painter and can do what you say you can and to make sure we are a good fit for each other. Let me know what you are looking for an hour to start and tell me about your experience and what your specialties are as well as your weaknesses. And let me know what tools you have to work with. We have two ways for pay, either a fulltime Painter or a piece worker. I have 8 to 10 hours a day if you want the hours and 5 to 6 days a week, everyone must have a t least 1 day off to relax and spend time with your loved ones. Thanks again for your time. Sorry about the long ad but everyone says they are painters, everyone has a story, and I've heard them all, so I just wanted to be upfront with everything, so you aren't walking into unexpected territory when coming to work for me lol.
