Experienced leader for Immediate hire. VHR , LLC is looking for an Experienced carpenter to work with a crew of 3. Candidate must posses most of the following skills; * able to read and execute building plans. * understand roofing. We don't install much roofing, just the extension we build. * able to frame extensions and Additions * have a good understanding of building codes and read plans. * able to build decks and screen porches. * able to drywall and finish tape and spackle. * able to renovate bathrooms and kitchens * able to install windows, doors, siding, and exterior renovations. * able to install vinyl, bend aluminum, * tile showers, understanding of easy plumbing. VHR is looking for responsible, reliable individual willing and able to work hard. Must have drivers license and reliable transportation with their own hand tools. Weekend work is also available as an addition to the work week work if desired. (not required) Good Pay depends on your experience and abilities. Hiring between 20 and 40 per hour depending on experience. Start immediately as the work we have is endless, and we are booked up for many months. Job Description This position carries out those activities required to maintain and correct damage and make repairs to physical buildings, structures, and facilities as well maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and cleaning equipment of assigned facilities. Additionally, this person will do a variety of work involving equipment use such as scissor lifts and necessitate regularly working from ladders. Responsibilities Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. Current electrician's certificate of fitness is preferred. Regular day shift, M-F but position may involve on call, night, weekend work or emergency call outs on an as needed basis. This position may require approximately 50% travel out of Anchorage area to other Alaska locations. Some overnight travel is required. Carries out the additional duties of all around facilities maintenance worker, some other duties and responsibilities this position may require are as follows: Repairs damage to walls and flooring Repairs door, locks and exit hardware Minor plumbing Repairs Repairs conveyor belts and systems Drywall installation/repairs, painting Cleans work area, tools, and equipment. Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned. Qualifications A high school diploma or GED equivalent. 5 years of directly related facilities and/or building maintenance experience with electrical experience. State of Alaska electricians’ license/certificate of fitness is preferred. Valid Alaska Driver’s License with three (3) years acceptable driving record to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy. Applicants must have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
