SF Clean City is a non-profit organization that promotes and supports greening and beautification activities throughout San Francisco. The Green City Program offers low-income residents of San Francisco with employment barriers, the opportunity for paid transitional employment, job readiness training and assistance with job placement through participation in community greening projects. The Tree Specialist Operators will provide tree watering, landscape maintenance work, and assistance with tree planting on routes in San Francisco. Operators will work alongside participants from our workforce programs. Job Responsibilities: • Safe, daily driving of a heavy-duty truck on watering routes, as scheduled • Daily watering of street trees on designated routes in San Francisco • Maintaining area around trees, watering bag, and tree support posts • Reporting of tree related issues, as needed • Assistance with the training of workforce trainees/ participants • Maintaining vehicles and equipment in clean, organized and good working conditions to ensure safety and minimal downtime • Leading and actively participate in tailgate safety meetings and safety compliance, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) • Learning and following Clean City safety protocols and policies • Assisting with group tree planting activities, as needed • Other related duties as needed.
