The Gutter, a neighborhood bar and bowling alley in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is looking for a skilled, experienced, energetic and motivated Part-Time Barback/Support. BARBACK/SUPPORT: Seeking a hands-on, great communicator who is friendly, welcoming, highly skilled and experienced, maintains a positive attitude, works well under pressure, work with a team, and can always smile to the guests. A great personality, character, and superb customer service is top priority. $11.00 /hr + tips | 2-3 shifts per week or more as needed. Responsibilities include but not limited to: - Punctuality and dedication to scheduled shifts - Providing all bar support to bartenders - Maintaining a fully stocked bar - Ability to tap and change beer kegs and gas tanks - Prepping, cleaning, and bussing the entire establishment - Tracking, logging, and maintaining inventory - Assisting with deliveries and organizing storage - Ability to lift heavy items, climb stairs and ladders, able to bend and stoop to low areas - Cleaning all bar surfaces, equipment, and tables - Sweep and mop floors, and maintain clean and tidy outdoor area - Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals - Take out trash and follow recycling policies - Able to follow health and safety standards at all times - Following directions and completing other general tasks assigned by management - Be a team player, and open to cover extra shifts - Have previous and proven experience as a barback in high volume establishments - Demonstrate integrity, tact, diplomacy and a commitment to company values This is a part-time position. 2-3 days per week MUST be able to work late nights (as late as 4:30am) Applicants with open availability are preferred DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE PRIOR BARBACK EXPERIENCE IN HIGH VOLUME ESTABLISHMENTS Must be authorized to work in the US. Job Description: The cleanliness of all seating areas throughout the market including - communal tables, kiosk counters, bar tables and outdoor patios. Ensuring all areas will be constantly monitored so that guest trays and it’s contents can be cleared and promptly clean tables/countertops for reuse. Transporting plateware, silverware, glassware and trays to the dish wash area on a regular basis, ensuring that all items can be cleaned and ready for service. Keeping all concessions stocked with the plateware, silverware, napkins and trays that they require for service. The general tidiness and cleanliness of all foot flow areas around communal tables, in front of concessions and all bars. Sweeping should be conducted on a scheduled basis, as well as on an as needed basis. Restrooms will be checked for cleanliness and replenished with supplies on a regular basis. Spillage will be a regular occurrence, and for the hazard of slips and falls, it will need to be dealt with promptly. If you come across a spill, alert a manager and remain by the spill until assistance arrives with mop/dry cloths.
