Are you ready to take off on your next career with us? Job Summary The work of a TWU Cargo Ramp loads and unloads cargo on and off aircraft; the transporting of cargo between terminals and aircraft. Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors’ activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program. Comply with WFS site security plan for assigned warehouse. This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Responsibilities • Load and unload aircraft of cargo weighing up to 80 lbs. in and out of aircraft within confined cargo areas, push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers with/to aircraft. • Transport cargo to and from aircraft driving 3,000 lb. vehicle using depth perception to negotiate vehicle with attached carts through congested area. Read "off-load" sheets to determine destination of cargo. • While performing aircraft push-out and/or towing functions, engage in proper specific ground to cockpit communication via hand signals and voice commands, with and without, the assistance of sight or visual aids. • Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight and company material, export at the designated express docks, • Completion of forms and messages related to and necessary for the performance of the designated locations of the functions described. • Ability to confront and question unauthorized personnel in secured areas, and report their presence to authorities as necessary. • Reports to work on a regular and timely basis. Minimum Requirements • HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent. • Must be at least 18 years of age • Ability to work in a high-noise level environment. • Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with and without, assistance of sight or visual aids. • Valid driver's license • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e., Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays, and days off **This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), a labor union which requires joining the TWU and paying union dues.** Preferred Skills • Ability to successfully communicate with others. • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 80 lbs. • Ability to judge distances. • Ability to work in a high-noise level environment. • Ability to work in inclement weather. Ensure proper lawn grooming, shrub trimming, and edging. Repair fencing and various landscaping as needed. Paint areas as needed. Assist with light cleaning and repairs prior to new resident move-ins. Assist office staff, as needed, with posting notices on resident doors and common areas as needed. OPERATIONS Ensure adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, notifying the supervisor when supplies are needed. Ensure that equipment, tools, supplies, and vehicles are properly used, maintained, and stored. Conduct preventative maintenance on tools and equipment as assigned. CUSTOMER SERVICE & COMMUNICATION Listen and respond to the needs of residents and staff members, escalating communication as necessary to a supervisor. Willingly and consistently share observations and insights of departmental operations that may improve quality and efficiencies of the department. Attend all-employee and departmental meetings and in-service training as directed. Update the Service Manager with status of work and communicate any potential liabilities including damage to grounds, facilities, supplies or equipment. COMPLIANCE & SAFETY Perform duties in accordance with all safety and OSHA requirements. Ensure that policies and procedures as well as safety and compliance expectations are met. WHAT YOULL NEED ON DAY ONE: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one year of previous experience as a Groundskeeper or similar function is preferred. Ability to speak and understand English. General computer knowledge. Knowledge of and ability to use grounds tools and equipment. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail, organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently. Valid driver's license may be required. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
