Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Physician Clinic team on a Per-Diem basis in our Multispecialty Clinics. The Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing supportive patient care in a medical office setting under the direction of a Physician or Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in accordance with the policies and procedures of the practice. Responsibilities include answering calls and emails, collecting and recording patient information and vital signs, assisting with exams and procedures, administering injections or medications as directed, and entering data into medical records. Additional duties include cleaning, sterilizing, and storing instruments, stocking rooms, and taking inventory of medical supplies. Essential Functions: Assumes direct patient care responsibilities as assigned by the authorized healthcare provider Performs surgical coordination duties under the direction of the providers Assists with exams or procedures Performs support duties to assist in the smooth operation of the clinic Process all requests for release of information in accordance with state and federal laws as well as hospital policy Position Requirements: Required Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or Licensed Practical Nurse Program. Professional Experience: Requires previous experience in a healthcare setting. Prefer prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting. Prefer experience with EPIC EMR. Required Certification: CMA or LPN certification. Current BLS certification. Basic Computer Skills are expected for this position. Access email, reference internal websites, access electronic health records, and use online learning tools to remain current with continuing education requirements. Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Beginning Skills – Able to perform basic things such as opening a document, change font, save a document, write a letter.
