Looking for one or two hardworking individuals to give me a hand, for about 2 - 4 weeks in October, on an addition I am building on my shop. Need a couple extra hands to assist me with digging footers, form up and pour concrete, frame walls and install the roofing and house wrap. I also will be needing a hand with installing insulation inside the shop. If you have an artistic side or enjoy well designed details in architecture, I think you will enjoy the project! Location is in Palmer, about a mile from downtown. A work ethic is all that’s required and some basic motor skills. If you have some experience with construction that is a plus. If you can use a hammer, tape measure, shovel and ladder and are willing to work, I can teach you the rest. I’ve trained lots of high school graduates and other eager learners of all ages to perform work as simple as cutting a 2x4 all the way to passing aerospace welding tests. Full Job Description Commercial Building Maintenance "Light Duty" This position is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance activities at various commercial properties within the Anchorage area. This position works with and through the Property Management team and assists in providing excellent customer service to our owners, tenants, and vendors that service these properties. Responsibilities: • Perform miscellaneous “Light Duty” maintenance in all areas of commercial buildings and some snow shoveling. • Provide prompt and courteous responses to all tenant requests for building maintenance service through a work order process. • Respond to alarms in the building in conjunction with the Property Manager and local authorities that may be responding to the alarms. • Change light bulbs and ballasts in building lighting fixtures. • Make daily morning rounds to visually inspect and correct any deficiencies including trash pick-up. • Clean, lubricate and service small equipment as may be necessary and only as directed by the Property Manager. • Power wash plazas in the summer months in the early hours and sweep plazas during the winter months to keep a neat and clean appearance. • Assist contractors and vendors on an as-needed basis and as determined by the Property Manager. • Must be willing and able to be on-call for after-hours emergencies (on a rotational basis). • Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Established awning company looking for skilled mechanic/tradesman to install awnings in the Richmond Area. Don't apply if you do not have at least 2 years of construction experience. Must be in good physical condition and able to accomplish standard construction tasks. Full Time career position. Report to the shop everyday and drive Company Vehicle to job site. EXPERIENCE WITH INSTALLATION OF INSULATED METAL PANELS IS A PLUS. Lead & monitor team members to ensure operations flow and work is being performed safely and quality. Work alongside and supervise workers responsible for miscellaneous construction projects. Ensure that crew complies with site rules, safety, and construction standards. Prepare and submit accurate, detailed, written daily reports for the project. Keep the team’s energy and spirits up. Resolve issues between workers or fire employees who don’t pull their weight. Communicate instructions, inspect work, and work side-by-side with their employees to demonstrate techniques or help. Provide assistance to Site Safety, Health, and Substance Abuse Program to ensure the safety and well being of all personnel at the job sites. Maintain communications with Project Manager to ensure proper coordination of the project among the on-site office, job site operations and subcontractors/suppliers for the project. MUST HAVE: Minimum 5 years of Foreman experience in the construction industry with a commercial and/or industrial general contractor performing general construction work. Experience in supervising/managing employees and motivating them to complete projects on schedule. Knowledge and experienced in carpentry, including but not limited to; metal frame, drywall, doors & hardware, acoustical ceilings, flooring, painting, etc.. Ability to read blue prints and construction plans, maintain equipment and manage paperwork. Good communication, management, and coordination skills. Must have current Driver’s License, OSHA Safety Course Certification, Operator licenses, Red Cross First Aid; and CPR Certification.
