Part Time Position 3-4 shifts a week Shifts Available: 3pm-9:30pm Monday-Sunday 11am-4pm Saturday and Sunday Host/Hostess Overview Greet customers, manage table rotation, and keep track of which tables need to be cleaned, answer the phone and take reservations. Responsibilities The host or hostess will juggle a variety of different responsibilities: Greeting customers. They bring customers to their tables, provide menus and flatware, and sometimes guide customers through the menu as needed. Monitoring how many tables each server is responsible for. Monitoring the status of each table. Hosts may at some time have to help servers clear tables before seating customers, especially during busy times. Managing the phone. This requires you to take reservations and takeout orders in between speaking with customers waiting to be seated. Skills Hosts need to have a strong set of communication skills to be successful. Customer service. The host or hostess is the first person that customers encounter in our restaurant, and are therefore the face of the business. Patience.
