Required Education and Experience: *Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and *Must be 18 years of age or older by date of hire. Additional Eligibility Requirements: *Working knowledge of basic building operation, repairs, equipment used and cleaning buildings. *Basic knowledge of the practices and techniques of landscape maintenance, tree care, and basic landscape construction techniques. *Knowledge of safety practices and procedures for this line of work. *Must be honest and truthful in all tasks and responsibilities. *Possession of valid driver's license by date of hire. Available Schedule: *Tuesday - Thursday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM Compensation & Information on Benefits: The anticipated hiring range for the Parks Laborer position is $18.36 (first step) to $19.28 or $20.24 (second or third step). The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, and qualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Three steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps. Duties and Responsibilities • Construction Industry experience is preferred. • Knowledge of foundation repair and applying surface coatings is preferred • Experience in grinding concrete, cutting concrete, and breaking concrete a plus. • Install epoxies and other liquid products on foundation walls, floors, and other larger flat surfaces. • Climb ladders, dig using hand tools and mini excavator, and haul material. • Painting, paint prep including sanding, caulking, and priming. • Work in confined areas such as crawl spaces. • Operate paint pumps. • Basic carpentry for forms and finishing. • Communicate with the Project Manager on progress at the job site. • Keep clean and organized job sites. • Maintain good working relationships with all company employees. Safety and Requirements • Keep all job sites clean and in order. • Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. • Valid State issued driver’s license and use of vehicle to arrive at office.
