This lamp was found in an old box in Nana’s basement which we thought she brought with her from Maine. It had price tag on it (still there) but since it’s been about 20 years, there is some increase in price. All of Nana’s sales go towards her Grandkid’s education. Last fall, I took this to Materials Unlimited and sadly found out they had closed their doors. On the way home, I stopped at an antique place on US 12. A lady tried to help me, but was busy and maybe paying attention to too many things. I had to point out things about this lamp that someone familiar with these objects should have known. After feeling pressured to leave it there for sale, kind of like on consignment, I just left. After researching, I realized this was NOT mass produced. It is NOT a Tiffany either, but seems to be handmade and NOT mass produced. It does have the usual floral motif but less of the Art Nouveau style that Tiffany is known for. We do not see any chips in the glass. We do not see a manufacturer’s mark. We have no idea if the glass is hand cut, but it is translucent and has vibrant color. The greens, however, are not overly bright, which, oddly, makes the vibrant and less vibrant combination more valuable. Go figure. The wiring looks old. Not saying it IS old, but it LOOKS old. Has what seems to be a porcelain fixture. The solder is definitely dull and matte, and we see no open spaces in its construction. On that note: We would hope the buyer would inspect this to verify our assessment. This Tiffany-style Pendent Lamp is 16” in diameter and has a 33” chain.
