The B.U. University Initiative ​ Our purpose is to empower youth in urban communities through the education of self and cultural history, talent coaching, and volunteering. B.U. is an enrichment group focused on uniting dysfunctional communities and cultivating wholesome living environments for local residents. We require all employees taking part in the initiative to maintain a reputable image in the community as well as demonstrating exemplary leadership towards unifying the community. ​ B.U. will begin its operations in Beaverton OR, with plans to start similar initiatives across America in the near future. B.U. will host public venues that allow local residents to display their talents to win donated prizes. The B.U. venues will be of no charge to its participants. All performances must be free of foul language, gang orientation, sexism, and ethnocentrism. B.U. will accommodate performers with bottled water and a “Be You Alumni” shirt or a Be You University hoodie. Other refreshment and entertainment venues may be available for purchase via merchandise vendors. ​ A HI-five team member will orchestrate the schematics of each B.U. Initiative venue. A HI-five team member will contact exemplary civil leaders and educators to speak at each event in accordance with encouraging self-love, cultural education, fiscal awareness, healthy food choices and self-sustainability, as well as the benefits of academia. These will be known as the High Five. The B.U. Alumni Class represents each one of the high five characteristics Judges for the talent show portion of the event may consist of the inspirational speakers, however the winner of the prizes will be determined via the voting tab inside the B.U. app. ​ A HI-five team member will be responsible for the advisement of each event. The responsibility will entail using a street team to promote the event, as well as contacting radio stations, high schools, colleges, directing attention toward the B.U. website, App, posting flyers and directional street signs. The HI-five team member will have the task of reaching as many individuals as possible via the aforementioned venues while staying within the allotted marketing budget. All HI-five team member MUST promote The B.U. Initiative during campaigning season. Campaign season: Is a 1 week period before each event where HI-five team member are required to wear B.U., Be you, High Five attire and distribute their personal supply of the B.U. initiatives promotional gear to help promote and inform individuals about the upcoming event. Because our efforts aren’t based on profits all HI-five team members are encouraged to inform people about importance of donating to this important cause.
