We are hiring experienced Finish Carpenters to work on New Custom Homes in the Metro Detroit Area. Must have at least 5 years experience as a Finish Carpenter with ALL your own tools and transportation. We are looking for Talented Finish Carpenters that know how to trim a large custom home from start to finish, hanging doors, cope crown and baseboard moldings, build built-in wall units, trim paneled walls, build custom beams and layout library rooms etc.. Quality is of utmost importance along with maintaining a decent speed. This a full time position Monday thru Friday 40 hours per week with overtime available per job. W-2 employees will be paid weekly with benefits after 90 days. Any subcontractors will need proof of current workers comp and general liability coverage or a certified work comp exemption form from the State of MI. Field Technician will apply their skills as necessary to perform quality work on time and at or under budget. Duties and Responsibilities • Construction Industry experience is preferred. • Knowledge of foundation repair and applying surface coatings is preferred • Experience in grinding concrete, cutting concrete, and breaking concrete a plus. • Install epoxies and other liquid products on foundation walls, floors, and other larger flat surfaces. • Climb ladders, dig using hand tools and mini excavator, and haul material. • Painting, paint prep including sanding, caulking, and priming. • Work in confined areas such as crawl spaces. • Operate paint pumps. • Basic carpentry for forms and finishing. • Communicate with the Project Manager on progress at the job site. • Keep clean and organized job sites. • Maintain good working relationships with all company employees. Safety and Requirements • Keep all job sites clean and in order. • Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. • Valid State issued driver’s license and use of vehicle to arrive at office. Carpenter/Deck Builder Wanted Local construction company looking for qualified and experienced Carpenters to join our team. We primarily build outdoor living spaces including open and covered decks, railings. The ideal candidate has a clean driving record, with a minimum of 3 years experience in framing, installation of wood and composite decking materials, some concrete finishing, and other specialties. Wage is $22 to $30/hour dependent on experience. Benefits upon completion of probationary period include paid holidays, 401k match, medical insurance, and paid vacation. Responsibilities and Duties: • Must be able to carry a minimum of 60 lbs • Ensure trucks and materials are available for each job each day. • Maintain equipment. • Cut and shape lumber and composite decking according to measurements. • Calculate and build staircases, layout foundations and frame buildings with raw materials and pre-constructed items. • Ability to work with 1-3 other team members and occasional subcontractors in cooperation with company owners and Lead/Master Carpenter with good communication, clear instructions, and a willingness to mentor others. Qualifications and Skills: • 2 years minimum carpentry experience. Proven experience as carpenter, exposure to many trades. • Willingness to learn and work in all weather conditions. • Clean driving record with reliable transportation and attendance. • Aptitude for problem solving and attention to detail. • Ability to read or learn how to read technical documents and drawings. • Able to lift, move, carry most common building materials on various surfaces, slopes,crcra and heights to complete installation at market pace. • Tool bags and personal hand tools.
