Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Perform all job duties with health safety and food safety as the number one priority. Prepares totes, pallets, and slip-sheets for use. Monitors the levels of peanuts in the finishing bins. Operates the bagger station effectively and efficiently. Hangs totes and operates the HMI and handheld scanner to fill totes to customer specifications. Maintains a solid line of communication with the control room operator and federal state employees to ensure the correct product is bagged and labeled correctly. Performs metal detector checks multiple time throughout the day to ensure all metal is removed from the product. Changes sizing screens out multiple times a day to ensure peanut sizing is correct. Follows all FOOD Safety requirements. Performs all work accident free. Completes all paperwork for this department and turns it in to the Shift Supervisor. Including metal detector check, lot log list and magnet checks. Follows all GMPs. Is responsible for making sure equipment is properly maintained and cleaned per OEM requirements to minimize downtime and maximize throughput. Communicates with Maintenance Team Leads about any problems with the equipment to ensure maintenance is performed correctly. Observes operation to detect malfunctions of equipment. Stops process and reports malfunction to supervisor. Performs any other tasks assigned by the Shift Supervisor. POSITION SUMMARY: The EMT is responsible for delivering high-quality pre-hospital and interfacility medical care and ensuing the safe, efficient transport of critically ill or injured patients via ground ambulance. This role requires a skilled and adaptable individual who can operate effectively in dynamic, high-pressure environments, including rural and remote settings. The Ground Paramedic works collaboratively with health partners to assess, stabilize, and manage patients in the field and during transport. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine medical needs during transport. • Provide advanced life support (ALS) and critical care interventions, including airway management, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and medication administration. • Continuously monitor and manage patient conditions during transport, making necessary interventions as per medical protocols. • Communicate effectively with medical control, receiving facilities, and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, interventions, and transport details. • Ensure safe and efficient patient transport via ground ambulance. • Assist in loading and unloading patients while ensuring proper securing of stretchers and medical equipment. • Operate within ground safety protocols, following crew resource management principles. • Perform pre-transport equipment checks to ensure all medical supplies and life support equipment are operational. • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide seamless patient care. • Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide reassurance and information about the transport process. • Participate in debriefings and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety. • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding emergency medica services and air medical transport. • Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment. • Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: • Proficient in communicating with patients, families, medical staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, onboard personnel, and clinics to ensure seamless coordination of care. • Maintains professionalism and composure in high-stress and emergency situations. • Responds promptly to phone calls and emails to facilitate efficient communication and decision-making. • Evaluates and interprets patient information to make informed clinical decisions in collaboration with a partner. • Utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment when exposed to infectious agents, toxic chemicals, or hazardous environment. • Prepares and administers medications accurately, ensuring correct concentration and dosages. • Possesses a strong understanding of ground transport operations to ensure safe and efficient patient transfers. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • EMT with a current license in Alaska. • Preferred certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support, Prehospital Trauma Life Support. • One (1) to three (3) years field experience in a busy 911/pre-hospital service. • Transport experience preferred. • Valid driver’s license and insurable under Knik Tribes automotive insurance, which requires drivers to be at least 21 years of age with a clean driving record. • Clean state and federal background check. SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Kelly Schedule – 24 hours a day operations requiring shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays. o Employees are required to stay in crew provided accommodations. o Accommodations will be provided at employer’s expense while on duty. • Stop Work Authority – Benteh Medevac has a firm stop work authority in place.
