This role involves working on a range of hardscape installations including stone walls, patios, walkways, steps, veneers, and other custom masonry features. The Senior Mason plays a key role in ensuring that projects meet the highest standards of quality while mentoring less experienced team members in proper masonry techniques. The Senior Mason works closely with the Project Manager and Division Manager to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with MainStay’s reputation for excellence. Key Responsibilities Masonry Expertise & Execution • Perform advanced masonry work including layout, cutting, fitting, and setting stone, brick, block, and veneer. • Lead the installation of patios, walkways, retaining walls, steps, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, and other custom stone features. • Operate masonry tools and equipment safely and efficiently, including saws, mixers, grinders, and compactors. • Ensure proper site preparation, grading, and drainage for all masonry projects. Project Leadership • Work under the direction of the Project Manager and Division Manager to complete project tasks according to specifications. • Provide on-site leadership and training for junior masons, installers, and laborers. • Assist in project planning, including material take-offs, tool preparation, and site setup. • Monitor progress to ensure projects are completed with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.
