Description

Local residential adult group home facility seeking potential candidates to work directly with individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities to ultimately enrich the lives of the individual. The candidate will directly participate in daily routines while assisting and encouraging each person to develop their skills and be as independent as possible. Personal routines include a variety of different activities both at home and in the community. Each day, you will be assisting with personal care, household chores, administration of medication, meal preparation, and art/music therapy; while also providing social interaction, and companionship in a home environment. You will also contribute to planning and organizing appointments and activities for the residents. Potential candidates should have knowledge of intellectual/ developmental disability and mental illness. Must be able to distinguish between the two to ensure accurate services are provided. Have knowledge of the Medicaid Waiver Program. Have the ability to communicate effectively. Must have experience working with Intellectual Disability population in group home setting. A minimum of one (1) year related experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to serve those with intellectual disability and mental illness. Must have a valid Virginia driver's license with a good driving record. The ideal candidate should be current with required trainings, to include First Aid/CPR, Medication Administration, Crisis WAVE, however will provide training upon hire for the right candidate. Candidate must be reliable with flexible availability. Required weekends, looking to hire immediately!
