Assembled specifically for playing Pre 1960 Mono Jazz Blues and Rock Records. The PIONEER PL-70 is a Two Speed Quartz Direct Drive Turntable. The motor and platter are mounted to a piece of plywood, but nothing fancy. The electronics were recapped and the turntable professionally serviced and maintained. There are lots of different versions of these vintage silicone damped Unipivot Broadcast Tonearms (i.,e. Grey Research, NEAT, Karmadon, etc.) but none more rare or as good sounding than this (Circa 1957) GRACE G-180B 12" inch Silicone Damped Uni-Pivot Broadcast tonearm. Made for playing records up to 16" inches. The 9" nine inch versions are pretty common but this is the only 12" inch version I've ever seen except for in pictures. I custom wired this arm for Two Channel Mono, in series. Wiring in series cancels surface noise and sounds by far superior to regular mono. The tonearm was found five years ago brand new in its factory box with accessories in a warehouse in Japan. I don't think I need to stress how rare it is to find a 70+ year old anything new in the box. An audiophile quality Denon DL-103 Low Output Moving Coil phono cartridge is mounted and included. It sounds jaw dropping good and it comes with low hours, (approx. 180 hours use) and lots of life left on the tip. Reply with your name and number I can text to. Price is firm. Stand not included. Cash Only. Demo and Pick Up in Escondido.
