We are looking for an Experienced Diesel Technician to join our team in Joliet. The Diesel Mechanic will strive to meet or exceed goal times for repairs. Able to work unsupervised for extended periods of time and assist in training technicians in lower job classifications. Starting hourly rate between $29 and $33 Training & Experience:   Experienced Diesel Technicians should possess the following training and experience: • Minimum of six (6) years practical experience or an equivalent combination of related education and experience • Specialized training and/or experience in the overhaul of major components (i.e., Mack – Cummins - Detroit Diesel Engines, etc.) • Be proficient in the use of all tools of the trade (Welding equipment, power tools and shop machinery) Major Function:    Properly diagnose, overhaul, adjust and repair all series of truck and trailer equipment including but not limited to the following: • Engines (Gas and Diesel) – Diagnose, remove, and rebuild and reinstallation, as necessary. • Transmissions (Manual & Automatic) – Diagnose, remove rebuild and reinstallation, as necessary. Differential/Power Dividers – Diagnose, remove, rebuild and reinstallation, as necessary. • Starters/Alternators – Diagnose, remove, repair, and replace as censer. • Air Conditioning Systems – Trained/Certified, diagnose electrical and mechanical defects, repair, component replacement, evaluation, and charging. Fan Clutches – Diagnose, remove, rebuild and reinstallation, as necessary. • Power Steering Systems - Diagnose, adjust, and repair, as necessary. • Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems – Diagnose, remove, rebuild, reinstallation, and adjustment, as necessary. Brake certified. • Clutches – Diagnose, remove and reinstallation, as necessary. • PTO Systems – Installation of PTO System and related hydraulic components. Diagnose, remove rebuild and reinstallation and adjustment, as necessary. • Tires – Remove, install and algin chassis. • Engine Electronics (Gas and Diesel) – adjust and repair, as necessary. Working Conditions: • Work outdoors in different weather conditions. • Exposure to used cooking oil odors. Specific Duties: Technician I Employees perform the following functions with no assistance: • Perform all levels of preventative maintenance • Identify and determine parts require for repair of disassembled units • Identify warrantable repairs and document appropriately • Maintain work area appearance and safety • Road test vehicles as necessary • Performance and prospective duties in a timely and efficient matter • All duties of lower job classifications. • Follow all safety rules and procedures. • Fully participate and support all safety initiatives. • Think safety and continually scan the work environment; make suggestions for corrections and improvements. • Other duties as assigned Qualifications Required: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Ability to lift, push or pull up to at least 50 lbs. • Ability to provide the above major functions, specific duties and with the experience listed above. • Good driving record. • Ability to drive manual 8- and/or 10 and or 13 transmissions preferred. • Ability to drive automatic transmissions and use of PTO. • Computer skills.

Some troubleshooting skills are required. • Visually inspect parts and determine if they meet the acceptable quality limits. Conduct quality checks using measuring equipment. • Package parts as specified to ensure proper and safe handling of the product. • Log all rejects on the Attribute Charts. • Review the operator inspection procedure before taking over any job. • Label all boxes after packaging to ensure proper handling of parts. • Ability to use basic measuring Equipment. • Degate and trim parts as required using secondary machinery to accomplish. • Ability to perform secondary operations such as gluing, welding, trimming, and some assembly. • Ability to use part count scale. Position: Chain Tech Pacific Trail Manufacturing is looking to fill an entry level chainsaw chain tech for our fabrication shop located in SE Portland. We’re a small business looking for someone with mechanical knowledge and attention to detail. The ideal applicant will be able to work as a team member, on-time, follow multi-step verbal communication and will strive for manufacturing best practices and cleanliness. Little to no knowledge of chainsaws or chain is necessary, however being mechanically minded is a must. This role involves a basic understanding of general mechanics and the ability to problem solve general mechanical situations. Responsibilities: Select proper inventory items from shelf. Unbox chainsaw chain and detangle looped chain. Measure length of chain and count drive links. Be able to identify different types of chainsaw chain. Properly loop chain together using chain breaker and rivet spinner. Prepare chain for packaging. Set timers for chainsaw sharpening procedures. Load and unload chainsaw automatic chainsaw sharpener with chain. Maintain chain sharpening machine and procedures. Qualifications: Mechanical aptitude. Physically able to lift heavy objects up to 60 lbs. Attention to detail with good eyesight.
