This role supports continuous production by minimizing downtime, adhering to food safety and regulatory requirements, and proactively maintaining equipment in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on production machinery, utilities, and facility systems. • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues to minimize production downtime. • Maintain and repair facility infrastructure (lighting, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air systems, etc.). • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance calls. • Follow and maintain documentation for preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, work orders, and repair logs. • Ensure compliance with food safety, OSHA, GMPs, and other regulatory standards. • Collaborate with production, sanitation, and quality teams to ensure equipment is safe, clean, and operational. • Recommend improvements to equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency. • Assist with installation, modification, and commissioning of new equipment or facility upgrades. • Maintain proper use and inventory of tools, spare parts, and supplies. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred. • 2+ years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or food production environment. • Experience with mechanical, electrical, and/or industrial automation systems. SKILLS & ABILITIES • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. • Knowledge of food safety, GMPs, and sanitation requirements for food manufacturing. • Familiarity with PLCs and basic automation troubleshooting is a plus. • Welding, fabrication, or machining experience preferred. • Strong commitment to safety and compliance standards. • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. • Able to work a 3rd shift schedule (e.g. 10pm to 6:30am), and overtime, weekends, and holidays when needed. As an HVAC Operator in Charge, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of HVAC equipment.
