IT Support Technician (School Setting)
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
While actual roles and responsibilities will vary depending on individual circumstances, the IT Support Technician will generally be required to perform some or all of the following tasks. Note that this list is not all-inclusive and that the IT Manager or Director of Operations may also assign other tasks he/she deems appropriate.
Provide support for technology related issues in a timely manner including, but not limited to:
Provide daily help desk support
Provide set-up, configuration, repair and support for hardware, software, basic networking services, peripheral devices, AV, presentation and broadcast equipment and other school technologies.
Track technology needs (ticketing system) to manage and prioritize technology support and services
Document and update all problems and requests for support; escalate support as needed
Isolate connectivity issues and seek support as needed to fix these issues
Maintain accurate technology inventory
Be fluent with hardware and software applications used throughout the school
Provide training and technical assistance to faculty/staff on various hardware and software used throughout the building
Drive the delivery of high quality, well-received, effective and efficient service
Provide technical support in preparation for and during all on line testing
Effectively communicate all technology related issues to IT Manager and Admin team
Assist in the evaluation of technology initiatives related to classroom instruction and student learning.
Requirements
Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in computer science or related field
Experience with computer diagnose and repair services; dedication to customer service.
Experience supporting large installations of Chromebooks
Knowledge of switches and networking, including basic network troubleshooting
Experience with Windows OS/Apple OS desktop, iPads, Tablets, Chromebooks, and imaging and mobile device management techniques
Experience managing Google Workspace
Excellent organization and communication skills - ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously is required
Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with staff, students, and the community.
System-oriented, yet flexible and responsive to the needs of the organization
Consistently fulfill all professional responsibilities, including punctuality and reliability, and adhere to district attendance policies
Must have reliable transportation and be willing to support some meetings and events outside of school hours with advance notice
