Maintenance Staff Member (Lihue)

Island School is seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join our Facilities Department as a Maintenance Staff Member. This position reports directly to the Director of Campus Operations and plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized campus environment. Salary: $22-26 per hour depending on experience. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine custodial and janitorial duties, including general cleaning and sanitation in the Main Hall and other areas as assigned. Assist with basic maintenance tasks as needed across campus facilities. Support landscaping and groundskeeping efforts to maintain the campus exterior. Provide additional support for school events and campus operations as assigned. Be professional at all times when dealing with the public, students, families, faculty and staff. Manage recycling across campus as assigned. Qualifications: Experience in custodial, janitorial, or commercial cleaning services. Background in landscaping or facilities maintenance preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines. Able to bend, stoop, lift a minimum of 50 pounds, turn, crouch, reach, sweep, mop and use tools required to complete tasks as assigned. High School diploma or equivalent preferred; CDL preferred for back-up bus driving as needed.
