Job Description: Partnership Opportunity for CPA with business management and tax experience. Location: San Rafael, CA (not remote) We are Zeisler, Zeisler, Rawson & Johnson LLP, a CPA firm providing services to musicians, entertainers, professional athletes, entrepreneurs, individuals, and small business owners. We are seeking a well-rounded individual with solid experience who can step into a very important role at our firm. You should possess excellent technical skills as well as the ability to effectively manage the client relationships that are so important to our success. This position is ideal for a person with drive and ambition looking for a fantastic partnership opportunity. This is an in-office position, at our San Rafael (San Francisco Bay Area) office, as you will work closely supervising, directing, assisting, and managing other members of the team. Job Duties: • Oversee all aspects of client engagements, including the ability to interact and effectively manage communication with clients (written, verbal, and in person) • Oversee all aspects of business management engagements, including cash receipts and disbursements, cash flow reporting and cash planning, tour accounting including budgets, tour reporting, royalty accounting and analysis, payroll, management and other commission calculations, insurance, band profit splits, estate planning • Review and prepare individual, corporate, partnership tax returns, (with a limited number of trust and non-profit returns). • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues (tax and financial), perform research, demonstrate critical thinking necessary to implement advice and planning • Review and respond to IRS and state & local tax notices, audits • Perform and supervise accounting write-up/prepared financial statements • Comprehensive year-end tax planning • Manage multiple priorities, clients, and deadlines • Supervise, train, and review work of other team members Qualifications: • Current CPA license • Strong grasp of accounting, general ledger, and financial statement concepts • Current CPA firm experience, ideally with a business management or family office type firm. 5-10 years recent experience preferred. • In depth knowledge and experience with tax return concepts for Individuals, S Corporations, C Corporations, LLC’s, Partnership’s • Experience with tax audits and reviewing and responding to notices • Strong software skills, including proficiency in Excel, CCH ProSystem (preferred) or Axcess What We Offer: • For those on partner track: competitive compensation, commensurate with your performance • For salaried employees: market/competitive salary, performance bonuses, 401K with company contribution, paid time off, company paid health benefits, paid CPE time off, paid parking, flexible schedule, free/reimbursed concert tickets, very busy schedule with room for growth, supportive, professional and casual work environment If this position meets your career goals and objectives please reply with a resume and cover letter telling us about you and your interest in the position. This role reviews POS, setup source of funds for residential Purchase of Services (POSs), process Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Rate Change; prepare cash receipts and other miscellaneous administrative functions in the Accounting unit. This is a hybrid schedule role offering the opportunity to work in the community, from any of our offices located in San Francisco and from the comfort of your own home. What you’ll Do: Authorization Functions Review and process all POS requests. Generate and distribute POS authorizations to vendors. Process payment adjustments due to POS Change Requests.
