Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Spanish with a high degree of accuracy and understanding. A Spanish language proficiency test would be required before performing the work needed. Location: New York, NY (In-person assignments within a two-hour radius of USCIS field offices) Hours/Schedule: Each attorney or interpreter will be required to attend interviews in person, with approximately 5 hours per assignment: Concurrent employment permitted Training:Attorneys: 1 week (40 hours) Interpreters: 2 weeks (80 hours) Pay:Attorneys: $60+/hour, depending on experience Translators: $40-50/hour, depending on experience Requirements: InterpretersFluent in English and Spanish 6+ months of professional interpreting experience (legal background not required) Proficiency in note-taking techniques AttorneysFluent in English and Spanish J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to guide clients through challenging experiences Immigration law or mock trial experience preferred, but not required Interested candidates are encouraged to apply with an updated resume in Wordformat.
